Cricketing extravaganza turns out to be a dud
The Clouds can burst and the skies can open up to cast an incisive spell in Chennai but not so with Indian bowlers who had a nightmare at the Oval in England. It was all over when the not so mighty English attack routed the Indian top order with their splendid bowling and fielding. It was once again a poor performance by the Indians carried right away from the Asia cup and they never could redeem for their losses incurred over the period of time.It is really so unfortunate for a Captain like Sourav Ganguly to make such crackbrained remarks of"Fortune didn't favour us." and "It has been bad days for Indian cricket."
Earlier in the day the Indian bowlers were traumatised by the English attack. The onslaught was set by Anrew Flintoff and Paul Collingwood who ruthlessly punished the Indian seamers when they in the quest of getting wickets drifted the ball too much to give room for the Englishmen only to see the ball flinging over their heads and beyond the ropes. One could see the agony on Ganguly's face when he punched his fist in the air when the bowlers went for runs.Nothing worked for India's favour for a side that was once considered mighty became meek in a matter of few months.Lets hope that India puts up a better show in ICC Chamions trophy and redeem their lost pride.
