Eve Teasing - A menace for Women
Eve teasing in general can be termed as a ruthless act of roadside romeos making obscene remarks about women.This act in recent times has taken a minacious shape forcing many gals
to succumb to the relentless torture of the ruffians.
Even as one sits and thinks about this violent act there remains unanswered questions
about itz cause and as to who is to be blamed for this.True!!Guys are to be blamed but not alone for this vivacious act.One cannot be lopsided when analysing such intricate issues.Whatz the necessity of a guy to make such lewd remarks about a gal?When a gal is out there in the streets
in trendy outfits of wrap arounds,parallels,mini skirts,low hip jeans with high heels and walking in the road juz like that in a ramp it invites anyone who is near normal to become eccentric.
India has been known for itz culture with saree as the traditional apparel for the women.But westernisation has caused the modern day gals to switch over from saree of nearly 5.5 metres to a skirt of 2 metres.What has been more disturbing is the count of discotheques and pubs turning out in large number in the metros.
Again coming back to this concept of westernisation,what is that which has influenced India to such a massive extent.Obviously itz the media.The media has had a major role in weternisation bringing in alien country's culture and mingling it with our very own culture.
In itz limelight it has projected the women in a awful form as cast them as show pieces.For instance take a undergarment ad.. of men and I really wonder what the hell is a woman doing out there in a ad.. which is solely meant for men.Ads for shaving creams,lotions involve women more than men.Suc ads are really disturbing and has been the root cause for throwing woman into a bad light.
There has been a recent spurt in the cases involving eve-teasing despite the fact that government has enacted stringent laws against those who involve in such malign acts.As pointed out earlier it is the media that holds a major stake in this awful menace.On forseeing the future I fear that we will be back to stone age unless some miracle happens to save the woman.
