Shankara's shackle paves way for Mutt's debacle
It has not been one man's fame that has been put to shame but that of
a mutt that has become lame after standing out majestically for nearly
2400 years.In what that has been described as an high profile and the most
sensitive case of this century,the pontiff of Kanchi Kamakotti mutt
Sri Jayendra Saraswati swami has been charged of commiting heinous
crime and charged under murder and conspiracy sections of the
Indian Penal Code.
The case takes its root from the horrifying murder of A.Shankararaman an honest,disciplined egalitarian who was stabbed to death by hired murderers on the dusk of September 3 2004. Mr.Shankararaman was working as an accounts officer in Kanchi Kamakotti mutt under the guidance of late Shri Paramacharaya.He was later thrown off from his office after the demise of Paramacharaya for he questioned on the irregularities in the mutt.Based on his honesty he was appointed as an accounting officer of Sri Varadarajaswamy temple in Kanchipuram.There was never a smooth relationship between him and Sri Jayendra Saraswati as he had once
filed a case against acharaya's proposed visit to China saying that such
high profile religious leaders should not cross oceans.
The police are investigating from various angles to find out the exact reason
as to what would have culminated to the gore death of this honest man.The police claim they have sufficient evidence in this case against acharaya but no one knows whether it is fake or framed evidence.Letters written by Shankararaman to acharaya has been recovered from the goondas detained by the police in connection with the murder.Some nearly 10 lakh rupees withdrawn from ICICI bank account of the mutt has been seized by the police from the murderers.
The nation is in a state of shock and whatever be the situation, only two are aware of this murder.
