A glittering day in my life
It was a day when it seemed like the moon shined more bright than the sun,the cats barked,the dogs mewed and everything around me seemed to be very much aberrant when i heard those words.But not so long, before i regained my senses and tried to hold on to my nerves.Those were the words that i had dreamt of too often and when i heard it finally,my mind was all in a hullabaloo.These are the words that every guy or gal would be yearning for to hear.But wait!!! I don't want you to jump to conclusion at this point of time as to what I am talking about.I am certainly not talking about the words that you presume it to be but something that is more powerful and sends you on a rollicking note once you hear it.
At the dawn of Apr 23 2005,I woke up rather on a languid note before I once again sprawled on to my bed.My body was yearning for a desperate rest and my mind was fuming at me to get on to work.Finally after the tussle between the two had ended I got off from my bed to brush my teeth.I then quenched my thirst with a cup of milk and then got on to the read the newspaper to know about the world's happenings."Oh god!!You gotta interview today man and what the hell are you doing out here reading the newspaper."I just sprung off from my seat to holdon to my SQL book (a book about Microsoft SQL) and have a glimpse of certain important topics.
I really couldn't focus on any particular topic and threw my book to one corner of my room."Afterall this is what you have been working all around and you should certainly crack it" was the thought that was running through my mind.
I had dressed myself so formally and today it was altogether a different day for me as I never had any wishes or alacrity for the interview i was about to attend.I drove to the interview center with my resume,PP foto and my salary slip.
There were about some 300 people sitting in a hall(i surmise it was canteen)and handing over their resumes to the people who were scrutinizing it.I thought the scanning would get soon and I would be called soon.But to my horror and agony it took nearly 1.5 hours for my name to be read out and called for an interview.Myself and two other gentlemen were guided by an attender to the 3rd floor in C-block.Some discussions went on and she took us to 2nd floor.Now there were still lot more discussions than ever before and finally she came and told us "Gentlemen we need to go to the ground floor".Thank god she was taking us for a ride through the elevator.
And when we reached the ground floor she asked us to wait for sometime.After some 15 minutes she came to us and hesitantly told us that we need to go to 3rd floor once again.And here were we flying like a shuttlecock.Alas!!We finally landed on 3rd floor hoping that the ride doesn't start again.
The environment was absolutely serene and i never had felt so calm before.As my name was called I went up to 2 gentlemen who were sitting there ready to rock and shake me up with pool of questions.Yeah! They shook me up with a nice handshake and it was all that went on well thereafter.They were really so cool and made me feel so.I answered all the questions put forth before me and they were completely satisfied with the way i answered them.After getting exhausted by firing mulitple rounds at me they decided to gimme a chance."Come on Ram!! Do you have anything to ask us?"And here was I with a certain mission fired an indelible question at them."What is the vision of your organisation?".The interviewer got perplexed and told me "Boy!!You are now interviewing me.Anyway our vision is to become global top 10 by 2010."Then he shook up hands with me and gave me a form to fill up.After I had filled up the form I was told that I still had 2 rounds of interview to be cleared.
The second round was a MR round and i wondered which Mr. is going to interview me.The MR round was more like a stress interview.After getting through the MR round I was called for the final HR round which was more so of formalities.They asked me about my family background,expected salary and all those regular stuffs.Everything got over by 7 P.M.They told me that they will be getting back to me in a day or two to finalise things.And till then I am keeping my fingers crossed.I hope for the best to happen.And yes!!The best is yet to come.
