Classic Story Series - Life has twist (Part 5)

Continued from Part-4

Vineeth could only answer in tears for Rakesh question. Rakesh insisted.

Rakesh: Where is Rajiv Vineeth? What happened to him?
Vineeth prolonged his silence.
Rakesh: I am asking you Vineeth. Will you tell me or not? Where is Rajiv?
Vineeth: He is alive.
Rakesh: Thank god. You made me tensed. You should be happy that he is alive.
Vineeth: No I am not.
Rakesh: What? What are you saying Vineeth? Have you gone mad? You are crazy man. Okay. Where is Rajiv now? Is he in this hospital?
Vineeth: No he is not here.
Rakesh: Now will you stop talking and take me to where Rajiv is?
Vineeth: Okay come with me. You'll see for yourself.

Rakesh was much more puzzled by Vineeth's reaction. He knew that he was a nice guy. But what made him feel that it was better for Rajiv to be dead than being alive. Was it because Rajiv lost his limbs, hands or parts of his body in the mishap or was it because he fled from the scene of the accident. Rakesh knew no bounds to his imagination as his mind was constantly thinking about every possibility. Vineeth tyre screeched and came to a halt. Rakesh never knew that they had travelled 30 miles to the outskirts of the city. When he stepped out of the vehicle he was shocked to see where he was.

Rakesh: Vineeth!! Where have you got me in?
Vineeth: I have got you to the place where Rajiv is.
Rakesh: Are you serious Vineeth? Comeon lets go from here Vineeth.
Vineeth: You only said that you wanted to see Rajiv.
Rakesh: Yes Vineeth. But I had never imagined to something of this sort. I don't want to see Rajiv in a mental imbalance state.
Vineeth: We have come all the way from the city. I am going to see him. If you want you can come with me.
Rakesh: I'll come with you Vineeth.

Rakesh and Vineeth passed through a series of chambers where they saw lunatic people administered with series of electric shocks. As they neared Rajiv's chamber they heard a loud screaming sound which sent chills down their spine. It was their very own Rajiv who was given electric shock. The poor guy couldn't resist that. Rakesh almost fainted.

Vineeth: Rakesh!! Are you alright??
Rakesh: I am sorry Vineeth. Now I understand why you said that he could have died.
Vineeth: Rajiv and me were never like brothers. We were more like friends.
Rakesh: I understand Vineeth.
Vineeth: How can I see him like this? I miss him a lot
Rakesh: I knew no way to console you Vineeth.
Vineeth: I have to tell you one truth.
Rakesh: Whats that?
Vineeth's mobile rings. He picks it up from his pocket to see "Ashwathi calling". His face turns pale. He thinks for a moment and disconnects the call so that she cannot hear the horrible acoustics of the mental asylum.
Rakesh: Who is that on the phone?
Vineeth: Ashwathi.
Rakesh: Oh why didn't you talk to her?
Vineeth:I didn't want her to hear these terrible sounds.
Rakesh: Ya I understand. You were telling me that you wanted to tell me a truth. Whats that.
Vineeth cries and tells Rakesh the truth he has hidden till date only to see Rakesh faint.
