Divya Desam 1 - Yoga Lakshmi Narasimhar(Sholingar)

As the name says it all this temple is the abode for Sri Lakshmi Narasimhar perumal. It is widely believed that this lord cures people with mental imbalances and dreadful diseases apart from protecting you from demons, ghosts etc. Even people with strained martial relationship worship this god for a good family life. People who want to buy land or construct a new house pray to this god to seek his divine blessings.



Sthala Puranam:
After killing HiranyaKasipu, Lord Narasimha started off from Ahobalimatt to Vaikuntam through skyward journey. The sapata-rishis in Sholingur worshipped Narasimhar and requested to come and stay there in a peaceful posture. The lord agreed to that.Lord Sri Anjaneya Swami is exactly opposite on a smaller mountain with conch and chakram.

2) Out of 22 thondai naatu divya desam this is the most special one.
3) The rock on which the lord sits is made of a single rock of mountain till bottom.
4) The mountain temple is around 200 feet in length and 150 feet in breadth.
5) The mountain is 750 feet tall with 1305 steps.
6) This shrine is known to give mental peace.
7) This temple was built in 3rd century A.D. by Parangu Chozhan.
