Atma resides in your Karma

Everyone seems to ponder over the question of "What after this life?" at some point in their life but very few of them really tries to find answer to it. Out of these few people who try to find very few actually succeeds. But really what is after this life?? The fear of death often grips people because they don't know the other side of death. For that matter nobody knows the other side of their birth too. So all our life is a finite series between birth and death. Humans are attached by emotions. Everyone born in this world is attached by relationships. When we come to the end of the series we are quite worried because we leave them and possible go to an unknown world. I am person who believes in karma. You are here today as a human because of your good actions in your previous birth. Your present actions are going to decide your future birth. "As you sow so shall you reap". Your actions are going to decide your future birth.

I am not a sanyasin or head of a religious institution to give a course or lecture on karma. I am a person who believes that there is a supreme power in the form of God above us who controls this world by his actions and desires. Being born out of an orthodox brahmin iyengar family, I feel the importance of saranagathi(attaining lord's feet)in this birth. I don't want to think about the future births because I am here today as a result of my good deeds. I know I have been given an oppurtunity by God to perform good deeds in this birth, chant his name and attain his lotus feet. I sometimes used to wonder that why do we worry too much about non trivial things in this world. As a baby we were fond of toys and start to develop attachment towards another soul called mother. When we grew up we were influenced many external factors that lead to kama(passion), krodha(anger) and lopa(avarice) in our mind. Over the ages we have multiplied these multifolds without realising that these are the inhibitors of good thoughts and actions in us. We are moulded as a bad person. But remember there is atma(soul) in our body which is not influenced by these factors. The atma is immortal. It is pure. We don't realise it because we fail to recognise it.

Karma is of three kinds.Sanchita (accumulated), Prarabdha (fruit-bearing) and Kriyamana (current) karma. Sanchita karma is the sum of one's past karmas – all actions (good and bad) from one's past life follow through to the next life.
Prarabdha is that portion of the past karma which is responsible for the present body. That portion of the sanchita karma which influences human life in the present incarnation is called prarabdha. It is ripe for reaping. It cannot be avoided or changed. It is only exhausted by being experienced. You pay your past debts. Prarabdha karma is that which has begun and is actually bearing fruit. It is selected out of the mass of the sanchita karma. Kriyamana karma is the karma that human beings are creating in the present, the fruits of which will be experienced in the future. All the kriyamana karma goes to sanchita karma(i.e accumulated) and the jeevatma cannot attain moksha until all the sanchita karma is exhausted or depleted.

Our body is a mixture of garbage and gold. We are always thinking about the garbage. At some point in life we think how to take the gold from this garbage. We attend religious lectures, recite slokas for the time being and then get lost ourselves in the garbage. Perseverance is the key to attaining moksha. The God is in this world to grant people's wishes. He grants wishes because if he doesn't do so people will not even turn up to him anymore or believe in the existence of the God.

Those who are athiest or criticise God are in this world because of their ignorance to realise the supreme power. They will realise God at some point of time in their life or future birth. Remember, God will grant moksha to every atma. That depends on your karma. If you have followed the karma, been a good soul and surrender to the lord he will show mercy on you and grant you moksha. There will be people who will laugh at you when you talk about such things. But you have to be persistent in what you want to do. This is Kali yuga. Bad things are destined to happen a lot. Our mind is like a monkey. It thinks about good and bad things. Your soul should control your mind and not the other way around. How you overcome it to do good things on your part largely determines the path of your soul. The atma is the only thing which is not evanescent or ephemeral and one that transcends all the boundaries. Now you have to choose the path of your atma.
Moksha or Rebirth??

1) CREATION
VEDIC -HYMN

"THEN THERE WAS NEITHER AUGHT NOR NOUGHT,NO AIR NOR SKY BEYOND.
WHAT COVERED ALL? WHERE RESTED ALL? IN WATERY GULF PROFOUND?
NOR DEATH WAS THEN , NOR DEATHLESSNESS, NOR CHANGE OF NIGHT OR DAY.
THAT ONE, BREATHED CALMLY,SELF-SUSTAINED; NOUGHT ELSE BEYOND IT LAY.
GLOOM HID IN GLOOM , EXISTED , FIRST-ONE SEA ELUDING VIEW.
THAT ONE, A VOID IN CHAOS WRAPT, BY INWARD FERVOUR GREW.
WITHIN IT FIRST AROSE DESIRE,THE PRIMAL GERM OF MIND,
WHICH NOTHING WITH EXISTENCE LINKS, AS SAGES SEARCHING FIND.
THE KINDLING RAY THAT SHOT ACROSS THE DARK AND DREARER ABYSS-
WAS IT BENEATH ? OR HIGH ALOFT? WHAT BARD CAN ANSWER THIS?
THERE FECUNDATING POWERS WERE FOUND,AND MIGHTY FORCES STROVE-
A SELF SUPPORTING MASS BENEATH, AND ENERGY ABOVE.
WHO KNOWS, WHO EVER TOLD, FROM WHENCE THIS VAST CREATION AROSE?
NO GODS HAD THEN BEEN BORN - WHO THEN CAN EVER THE TRUTH DISCLOSE?
WHENCE SPRANG THIS WORLD, AND WHETHER FRAMED BY HAND DIVINE OR NO-
ITS LORD IN HEAVEN ALONE CAN TELL , IF EVEN HE CAN SHOW."
